As the movement towards cloud computing progresses, one of the major issues that we encounter from our customers is in relation to security. As it is almost impossible to avoid the cloud (see link below), this article aims to assure users that cloud storage security concerns are generally unfounded. The segment below is an excerpt from the following article
which looks into a variety of concerns often associated with cloud storage and computing.
After all, in most businesses, there may only be one or two individuals with a clear focus on security. In a cloud organization, entire teams are charged with that responsibility.
Certainly, there are particular exceptions to the cloud security argument. Many government organizations, for example, are unlikely to put their data in the cloud. Their in-house teams have specialized expertise in maintaining and managing security and, in fact, are often looked to for guidance by companies. For most enterprises, however, a cloud provider is likely to provide comparable if not better security than the corporation can on its own.
Security, then, is a question of whether your organization is suitably equipped to provide better protection of your data than the dedicated cloud provider, whose business model demands that type of skill for survival.
