School wanted to upgrade out of date computer system with cost effective solution

A customer of ours wanted to replace all the computers in one of their labs they as the became slow and outdated so contacted us for a solution. In this current climate the costings was a serious issue for the School.

    Solution

We suggested that instead of replacing all the computers (30) which could cost in the region of €15000 that they purchase a Remote Desktop Server for €4500.

They keep all their existing hardware which will be used as dumb terminals to the new Server, the Server does all the work.

This gives the existing machines a new lease of life as they are working as fast as the latest PC that they could buy.

The customer also has a solution where they have only 1 computer to install software on or worry about updates for. They also have Antivirus only on the Server.

On the old desktops we installed an application that immediately, on start-up and after logoff, brings them to a remote desktop login.

Our customer is delighted with the solution because it has meant a significant saving while still getting the performance of a super-fast computer.
