Cloud computing is the the use of various services, such as software development platforms, servers, storage and software, over the internet, often referred to as the cloud.

In the past, it was common for applications or programs to be run from software downloaded on a physical computer or server (hardware), cloud computing allows people access to the same kinds of applications through the internet.
